Our Story

A Family's Commitment to Care
Provident Life - Special Needs

In 2008, Shannon and David Dabel felt a deep calling to open their home to individuals with developmental disabilities. This decision wasn’t just about offering services—it was about creating a space where people could feel truly at home, valued, and cared for. What began as a small, heartfelt mission quickly grew into something much more significant, as the individuals they served became an integral part of their family.

Shannon, David, and their four children, along with their beloved foster children, formed lasting bonds that continue to shape their lives today. Together, they embarked on adventures across the United States and southern Mexico, creating cherished memories and growing stronger as a family.

Over time, their passion for serving the developmental disabilities community became a family legacy. Their children, inspired by their parents’ dedication, took up the torch. Jared worked closely with Shannon and David to develop the agency’s services and offerings, helping to shape Provident Life into what it is today. Emma, driven by a desire to make a lasting impact, became a certified behavior professional, continuing the family’s commitment to excellence in care.

At Provident Life, we believe that caring for others is a lifelong journey, and our story is one of love, commitment, and a shared vision of making the world a better place for those with developmental disabilities. We are more than an agency—we are a family that has grown through the bonds we've formed and the lives we've touched.

About Us

A Family’s Mission to Serve with Compassion and Excellence
Provident Life - Special Needs

Provident Life Inc. was born from a simple yet powerful belief: that every individual deserves to feel safe, valued, and supported. In 2008, founders Shannon and David Dabel opened their hearts—and their home—to individuals with developmental disabilities, setting in motion a legacy of care that continues to thrive today.

What began as a family-led effort soon blossomed into a full-service agency rooted in love, trust, and personal connection. The Dabels, along with their four children and foster family, built lasting bonds with the people they served—growing stronger as a family and as a care community.

Today, Provident Life is still a family-driven organization, led by the next generation. Jared Dabel has helped shape the agency’s growth and services, while Emma Dabel, now a certified behavior professional, continues to lead with heart and expertise. Together, the Provident Life team brings decades of lived experience and professional dedication to every life they touch.
